Practice of this style

Here is a few practices I drew up using reference to previous image.

My chosen image to be used at the scene to be inside the shape.

My ideas for the shape/scene that will be placed on top of a selected background with the full image inside it.

My idea for the back of the book cover this idea has been floating about in my head when drawing out sketches I wanted something where the blurb was inside the smoke emitting from the cigarette.
